{"id":6,"date":"2011-08-02T15:36:17","date_gmt":"2011-08-02T15:36:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spindizzy.net\/weaving-blog\/?p=6"},"modified":"2011-09-19T13:42:42","modified_gmt":"2011-09-19T13:42:42","slug":"preparing-for-summer-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spindizzy.net\/weaving-blog\/archives\/6","title":{"rendered":"Preparing for Summer School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Next  week I\u2019m going back to school and I\u2019ll try and record my progress.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Every year the <a title=\"Association of Guilds of Weavers, SPinners and Dyers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wsd.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\">Association of Guilds of Weavers Spinners and Dyers<\/a> runs a summer school and this year it\u2019s being held in Edinburgh, I\u2019m  treating myself to the class on weaving techniques on 8 shaft looms with  <a title=\"Janet Phillips\" href=\"http:\/\/www.janetphillips.clara.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Janet Phillips<\/a> as a tutor. (Also I don\u2019t have to cook, clean house, feed the cats or worry about the day job at <a title=\"Jodrell Bank Observatory, pulsar group\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jb.man.ac.uk\/research\/pulsar\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jodrell Bank Observatory<\/a> for 7 whole days &#8230;.bliss!)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>However,  I have to arrive there on Sunday, with my loom already set up and ready  to weave following detailed notes sent out by Janet some months ago.  There is never enough time, but I finally got the loom ready at the weekend\u00a0  (after a week&#8217;s delay to rebuild a broken bit or 3)!
